SPRING: THE WOOD ELEMENT

09-Sep-2019

Chinese Medicine draws on the changing seasons and how they influence our health and wellbeing. Spring's arrival bursts forth with green shoots and flower buds growing daily in warm sunshine, drawing on the potential laid down in winter.

Springtime generates renewal, increased vitality and optimism. The time of the Wood Element signifies the opportunity for us to expand  outwards, grow deep roots into the earth and maintain flexibility in the wind - so typical in Hobart at this time of year! Wood energy is about moving forward in a dynamic way, motivation, planning new projects, accomplishing goals and manitaining healthy boundaries.

To assist you in springtime try to:

  • Eat More Green Vegetables
Green is the colour of the Wood Element so eat plenty of fresh, leafy green vegetables: broccoli, spinach, kale, asparagus, seaweed (spirulina),   and particularly green sprouts.
  • Reduce Toxins
Spring is the best time for a de-tox. Try to minimise alcohol, coffee and processed sugars.
  • Get Active
Being in nature is a great way to de-stress -walking in the bush or along the beach makes us feel so much better. Or take up yoga, tai chi or swimming to relax your body and mind.
  • Spring Clean Time
Create space for new ideas and things to come into your life.
